Avalon IT is delighted to announce the appointment of Andrew Walmsley in the role of IT Support Engineer. Andrew will work on the IT helpdesk assisting our business and education sector clients as well as performing on-site routine visits and project delivery tasks. He will work as part of our technical team enabling us to improve our service offering and customer satisfaction levels, speed up response times and ensure our clients’ SLAs are met every time.
Before joining Avalon IT, Andrew has worked in IT for over 20 years in both the private and public sector. Andrew holds a first class BSc Computer Information Systems degree from the University of Lincoln.
“My main pursuit in life is spending time with my family (2 young daughters), however I have always been an avid reader and try to read as much as possible. Throughout my life I have kept fit by taking part in badminton, football, running, hiking and weight training training and enjoyed the experience of running my own football teams, though my time is mainly restricted to gardening and growing my own vegetables.
I am eager to try useful technology, having used Raspberry Pi’s for a few years, working with Linux, building my own computers and helping people with their issues. Keeping my skills up to date is important to me, so I’m often up late trying my hand on web design, programming or learning about networking.
I have been the proud owner of a classic piece of British motoring (MGB GT) and still very passionate towards this era of motoring.”
